I went to the Grant for Congress open house in Caldwell today after work. It ran from 5PM to 7PM, and I got there around 6:30PM, so I can't really report on attendance. I took some video, but it was in an enclosed courtyard so mostly I heard a lot of echos and some gal behind me talking on a cell phone.
Still, the folks seemed energized and excited. Grant talked about the poll showing him leading Sali. A key point Grant made, and one I'd agree with, is this: When Idahoans learn more about Grant, they like him more. When they learn more about Bill Sali, they like him less. This is consistant with Sali's tanking in the polls.
I encourage folks to get out to some of these campaign events. In a small state, you can actually talk to, and maybe even get to know, the candidate. The candidate might become a Representative or Senator. An advantage of living in a thinly populated state.
Another note; Grant has now climbed over the $10k mark for Netroots contributions.

Alan, thanks for being there! During the open house, we started a live thread on the campaign blog where folks can post why they are supporting Larry Grant. It'll stay up now through E-Day, and we invite folks to stop by the blog and write a few sentences about why they'll be voting for Larry Grant on November 7.
You can find it at http://larrygrant.typepad.com/blog/2006/09/i_support_larry.html
