Oh, Please!

Our peripatetic Gov is diligently discharging his duties as Gov. Idaho governor releases 475 salmon into high mountain lake. I'm sure glad that he's taking care of these important duties and not wasting time campaigning for Lt. Gov. And of course these crucially important trips, funded by the Idaho taxpayer, have nothing to do with campaigning. As reported by Betsy Russell, he'll do his campaigning later in the fall.
Meanwhile, LaRocco’s opponent, current Gov. Jim Risch, asked this week about his campaign plans, said, “I have filed for lieutenant governor and I intend to campaign at some point in the fall for lieutenant governor.” Risch said he’s been “busy with running the state government.”
Right now he's busy running the state government. Fish by fish, photo op by photo op.

Oh, there was also this bit of leadership. "Gov. Jim Risch and Boise author-historian Carol Lynn MacGregor unveiled Boise’s first-ever public sculpture by a Nez Perce artist today."

I'm also sure glad that our newspapers can be relied on to report all this activity. It would be terribly misleading for them to tote up all the events Risch has popped up at, and especially tasteless for them to report on the press releases from Risch's office, and really, really tacky to compare Risch to previous Governors regarding press releases. And of course, to pass on publishing some of this stuff is right out. I mean, it's not as if Rish is campaigning and a fairness concept applies. Why, it's well over 45 days until the election.
