In China, Otter repeated the economic vision he has held for Idaho for decades.But the most interesting thing to me in the article was this quote from a Dubois hay farmer.
"You've got to dig it out of the ground, you've got to grow it or you've got to cut it out of the forest," Otter said
"To me that's what the government is there for," Larsen said, "to help us create jobs and be friends to business."That's right, government is good when it's helping business. But the attitude I get from most Republicans is that when government is trying to get health care for citizens or otherwise do something for people, it's very bad.
I just don't get that disconnect. Maybe it's the Dunning–Kruger effect.
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which an unskilled person makes poor decisions and reaches erroneous conclusions, but their incompetence denies them the metacognitive ability to realize their mistakes.

"Thus, the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others" ... boy, that is 'really' telling. Doesn't it pretty much suggest that in general, Reps are just not seeing (or refusing to see) the bigger picture? The one that would offer more to more people? 'Just seems that way to me.
Either that or they're just greedy.
