Is his heart in it?

A quick look at Risch's web site shows under upcoming events only one event; the Festival on the Falls in Idaho Falls, on July 4. One upcoming event, in the past.

Have a look at the opening page of his website. I think the bright orange Donate button dominates the picture, and is a bit tacky. At least let people into the site before asking for money.

Standard operating procedure. He hates fundraising, has few volunteers outside the family, and isn't really into retail politics. He also knows that most voters won't pay attention until October so he'll hold back till then. He invites emails. I'd be really surprised if you got a response to one.

He perceives his statewide base to be in SE Idaho and he'll show up to everything over thataway. Rammell must really vex him. I expect he may spend more time dealing with Rammell than with LaRocco. I heard that there was to be a challenge to Rammell's candidacy having only obtained 1006signatures when he needed 1000 registered voters. I've heard nothing since then however. If Risch can't get him out, Rammell will defintely be a factor.

If his base is in E Idaho, I wonder why LaRocco isn't hitting Risch with the effective (in the past when used by Republicans against Dems) line that Risch is a "Boise trial lawyer."

In fact, I think Phil Batt once said that the Dems were going to have trouble getting into ofice as long as they keep running Boise trial lawyers.

If I were LaRocco, I'd never refer to Risch as anything other than "my opponent Boise trial lawyer Jim Risch." Worked against Dan Williams and Bill Mauk.

I expect that come October you will hear that cry. And you'll hear all about inside the beltway lobbyists and career politicians.

I heard that too. Only I heard it's a bunch of sportsmen or something like that who were going to challenge the signatures. Has anyone heard anything else about this?
