Farm Payola

"My country tis of thee,
sweet land of subsidy."*

Mountain Goat has an excellent analysis of agricultural subsidies posted. He concludes that lowering the subsidy cap to exclude farmers who make more that $1Million per year will affect only 221 farming operations in Idaho. He points out how our congressional delegation is waffling on the subsidy.

MG has done some good work with this;
For fiscal conservatives, our delegation is not exactly stepping up to the plate to reduce the subsidies. The political conundrum; compromise your principles if it effects too many voters, or contributors.

It appears they're also going to support the continued sugar price supports.
